I realize there are a hundred blogs out there from some random guy or gal documenting their woodworking journey. This blog will be written from the viewpoint of someone who really is starting from scratch. I will try to always keep this in mind when I write because as a beginner, some of the most helpful things I have found has been from people who were very new to the woodworking hobby.
So before we embark on this journey, a little about me that I would like for you to know. I am 34, have two kids, and a cat I dont really like much(Fear not, the feeling is mutual). I am a stay-at-home Dad and work part-time. I have recently lost 65 pounds and my beautiful wife and I have been married for going on 14 years.
The point is: I am a real person. I dont have access to a trust fund or unlimited time to be in the shop. I am probably alot like most of you reading this.
In the coming posts I hope to address some of the first obstacles I ran into with my "shop" and what some of my first tool purchases were. Until then, stay safe and have fun on your woodworking adventures!
